Tales travel the world by changing names. Although the names have changed, the narratives whose content remains almost the same are told from language to language. Nartanesi is one of these tales. There was a small family in the Taurus who lived in happiness. The bright days have come and darkened. Nartanesi's only mother breathed her last. His father was left without arms. A neighbor woman told Nartanesi that she wanted to marry her father and that she would be a good mother to him. Nartanesi convinced his father. His father married the neighbor woman, who was now the stepmother of Nartanesi. The stepmother was so jealous of her husband's fondness for her daughter and the beauty of Nartanesi that one day she said to her husband "either me or your daughter will leave this house". He persuaded Nartanesi to take it with him when he went to collect wood on the mountain and leave it there. His father left Nartanesi helplessly on the mountain. Nartanesi realized that her father had abandoned her, and noticed a house with a smoking chimney in the distance. He decided to go to this house. Kırk Zeybek, who lives in a glass house, saw it. Kırk Zeybek would leave the house for work early in the morning and return home in the evening. One day, when they left, Nartanesi entered the house, cleaned the house, cooked delicious meals, and returned to the corner where she was hiding. Forty Zeybeks could not believe their eyes when they returned home. This made them very happy. One day, three days, five days passed. One day, Nartanesi heard that Kırk Zeybek were talking among themselves that the one who offered these beauties should be our sister if she is younger than us, and our mother if she is older. Nartanesi came out of her hiding place and told what happened to her. Kırk Zeybek adopted her as their sister, and their days passed happily. One of these days, the stepmother said to the moon, "Oh grandfather, are you beautiful or me?" he called. Dede Ay said, "Neither you are beautiful nor I am beautiful, Nartanesi living in Kırk Zeybek is beautiful." she replied.
We're sure you all know the rest of the story. Don't shared tales and narratives bring us closer together?
